A lifelong reader and creative, I graduated Marshall University in 2020 with a degree in print journalism and minors in English and women's studies.
As a freelance writer, I regularly report on my home state of West Virginia. My areas of expertise include outdoor recreation and the arts, though over the years I've written on many topics and can easily adapt my style and skills to any story as needed. I also write for publications outside West Virginia, covering local and regional businesses and artists. I'm open to traveling for stories! View my work here.
I'm the copy editor for Highland Outdoors magazine, have edited many books and completed research for local author Philip Hatfield (35th Star Publishing), and in my undergrad career I was editor of The Parthenon, Marshall's student newspaper. That publication was often distributed in The Herald-Dispatch, a larger, regional newspaper. As intern at The Herald-Dispatch my junior year of undergrad, my dream of local journalism with a magazine emphasis was fully realized and solidified. Read some of my newswriting work here.
After graduating, I worked full-time at a magazine before using that knowledge and experience to begin my freelance work. I am open to any and all possible stories, for any and all publications. I'm also eagerly open to editing work. Connect with me on LinkedIn! Let me edit your projects or write for you!
